My capstone project is an illustrated children’s book about a young girl, Etta, who becomes mesmerized by an old woman she sees at the grocery store. By spying this stranger’s life, Etta discovers that being old can look very different than she once thought. The book explores identity, stereotypes, and the importance of asking questions. I hope that this project will inspire kids to look outside themselves and make heroes out of those in their lives.
